Analysis on China Sponge Titanium Production Data of January 2023
According to the statistics data from LYDD, the production of sponge titanium in China in January 2023 was 17,950 tons, a year-on-year increase of 68.09% with a increased production of 7271 tons, and a month-on-month decrease of 41.96%.
Part of the enterprises experienced limited electricity and market impact in January, resulting in a slight decrease in production compared to the previous month.
The top three domestic sponge titanium production regions in China in January 2023 were Liaoning Province, Yunnan Province, and Xinjiang Province, accounting for 29%, 17%, and 15% of total domestic production respectively.
The market quotation of sponge titanium remained strong in January, as the downstream market started slowly due to the Spring Festival holiday, and the demand for sponge titanium was showing underperformed. Enterprises faced pressure to receive new orders, as the prices of titanium raw materials remained high and the price of magnesium ingots increased. As a result, the market quotation of sponge titanium maintained its strength.
