Qian Xiaojun, Founder & CEO of League of Nations: Reshaping a New Engine of Global Productivity Growth with Collaborative Innovation of Industrial Internet
Shanghai Securities News China Securities Network News (Reporter Chen Fang) Qian Xiaojun, founder and CEO of Guolian Co., Ltd., stated at the 16th Annual Meeting of the New Champions of the World Economic Forum ("Summer Davos Forum") on the 24th that the industrial internet is the "digital engine" of new quality productivity in the real economy, reshaping the resilience of the global value chain. The industrial internet is driving a leap in global productivity through connection breakthroughs, data empowerment, and collaborative symbiosis.
Global Productivity Growth Faces Structural Dilemmas
Qian Xiaojun analyzed that the structural dilemma of global productivity growth is the disconnection between traditional paradigms and the digital age. Geopolitical conflicts and trade protectionism accelerate the fragmentation of industrial chains, the gradient gap in digital penetration leads to transformation dilemmas for small and medium-sized enterprises, and the disconnection in technology transformation and trust deficit restrict the release of innovation value.
The World Trade Organization's "2024 Global Trade Report" shows that the growth rate of intermediate goods trade has dropped to 1.2%, a ten-year low. The localization rate of supply chains in globalized industries such as automobiles and electronics has increased by 18% within three years, raising corporate procurement costs and disrupting the efficiency system of global division of labor.
"In the industrial field, issues such as information asymmetry, inefficient supply chains, and rough production severely restrict the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises, exacerbate the imbalance in development between enterprises, and weaken the overall resilience of the global industrial chain. McKinsey research shows that only 15% of small and medium-sized enterprises globally have achieved deep digitalization, while this proportion exceeds 60% for large enterprises," Qian Xiaojun stated.
In his view, technologies such as AI and quantum computing are developing rapidly, but the conversion rate of results is insufficient, mostly remaining in laboratories or closed scenarios of leading enterprises. In cross-border business, differences in data regulation among countries trigger a trust crisis, urgently requiring the construction of a global collaboration system based on technological trust.
"Facing challenges, the industrial internet, as a key force driving the digital transformation and upgrading of various industries, is profoundly reshaping the global industrial landscape," Qian Xiaojun said.
The Industrial Internet Industry Restructures a New Paradigm of Global Productivity
Qian Xiaojun believes that the industrial internet industry is restructuring a new paradigm of global productivity through a series of innovative practices, from data element configuration, industrial digital empowerment systems, to global collaborative innovation.
In terms of data element configuration, he believes that the industrial internet industry focuses on building a large and high-value data asset pool, which has been accumulated over many years. Through digital trading platforms, it aggregates massive supply and demand data, conducts real-time analysis of production, sales, supply chain, and other multi-dimensional data, enabling enterprises to timely and accurately grasp market dynamics, transforming the fragmented "business flow, logistics, and capital flow" into a real-time interactive digital network.
"Quantum computing, as a cutting-edge technology, has already shown practical results in the field of industrial internet. In the future, quantum computing is expected to bring new breakthroughs to the industrial internet in complex calculations, data security, and other aspects, promoting fundamental changes in the industry," Qian Xiaojun said.
The industrial digital empowerment system is a key tool for the industrial internet to enhance productivity. Qian Xiaojun analyzed that in response to the bottleneck of insufficient transformation capabilities of small and medium-sized enterprises in the digital transformation of manufacturing, the industry has explored many effective paths. For example, through modular transformation, enterprises can flexibly choose digital solutions based on their needs; using industrial large models to deeply train production data, achieving a shift from "experience-based decision-making" to "intelligent optimization"; adopting lightweight investment methods such as cloud deployment models, significantly reducing the cost of digital transformation for enterprises.
Qian Xiaojun cited digital cloud factories as an example. He introduced that digital cloud factories use AI, the Internet of Things, and digital twin technology to achieve full-process digital management from production management to quality inspection, improving enterprise production efficiency and product quality. The digital supply chain system integrates intelligent logistics and digital warehousing, and innovates multimodal transport algorithms to enhance the collaborative efficiency and response speed of the supply chain. The industrial internet closed loop, with digital cloud factories as nodes and digital supply chains as links, achieves "four flows in one" driven by real-time transaction data, connecting upstream and downstream industries to form an efficiently operating industrial ecosystem.
In his view, with the continuous development of the industrial internet, a global industrial internet innovation ecosystem is gradually forming. In cross-border business, the industrial internet reconstructs the supply chain system through digitalization, achieving data sharing at nine key nodes: customs, taxes, exchange, government, business, ports, shipping, warehousing, and finance. In the B2B cross-border e-commerce "production-procurement-sales-overseas circulation" chain, the procurement and sales end relies on blockchain technology to achieve cross-domain mutual recognition of customs declarations and quality inspection reports; the logistics end connects cross-border shipping lines through the "digital supply chain" platform, reducing logistics costs by 35%; the production end "digital cloud factory" meets the core value needs of digital transformation, cost reduction, and efficiency improvement for foreign factories.
"This full-chain collaborative innovation not only reshapes global industrial collaboration but also builds a new type of industrial ecosystem across regions and systems with digital trust as the link, becoming the 'digital engine' driving the leap in global productivity, enabling mutual empowerment of technological and institutional innovation in the reconstruction of the global value chain," Qian Xiaojun said.
Building an "Industrial Digital Ecosystem Community"
In Qian Xiaojun's view, the key breakthrough point of collaborative innovation lies in building an "industrial digital ecosystem community." Solving the problem of global productivity development requires the collaborative cooperation of governments, enterprises, and research institutions to build a new type of collaborative ecosystem.
He believes that strengthening government-enterprise collaboration is necessary to consolidate the foundation of digital economic development. Establishing a long-term cooperation mechanism, co-constructing digital demonstration parks, breaking resource barriers, and achieving efficient allocation of elements such as land, capital, and data. Promoting the application of the industrial internet in key areas, creating a collaborative paradigm of "policy empowerment + enterprise innovation."
Deepening the integration of industry, academia, and research helps to bridge the "last mile" of technology transformation. He believes that industry-academia-research collaboration is an important way to accelerate the industrial transformation of technological achievements. Encouraging enterprises and research institutions to jointly build laboratories, focusing on technological breakthroughs in AI, quantum computing, and establishing a market-oriented transformation mechanism to accelerate technology implementation.
In promoting international digital cooperation, he stated that a unified industrial chain trust standard should be constructed, calling for the coordination of digital trade rules, relying on blockchain and quantum encryption technology to build cross-border platforms, enhancing transaction transparency, serving the joint construction of the "Belt and Road," exporting digital standards, and enhancing international discourse power.
Qian Xiaojun emphasized that the industrial internet, by breaking through with connections, empowering with data, and relying on collaborative symbiosis, is driving a leap in global productivity in a relay race. In the future, it will accelerate the integration of technology and industry, break down industrial chain barriers, and reconstruct cross-border trust systems.
