Fujian’s ship exports exceeded RMB 4.1 billion in the first two months of the year, setting a new record for the same period on record.
According to statistics from Xiamen Customs, from January to February this year, the export value of ships from Fujian Province reached 4.11 billion yuan, an increase of 2.1 times year-on-year, setting the highest record for the same period in history. Among them, the single-month export in February was 800 million yuan, a significant increase of 10 times year-on-year.
It is reported that the strong growth in ship exports from Fujian Province is supported by a number of internationally competitive enterprises. Data shows that from January to February, state-owned enterprises exported ships worth 3.8 billion yuan, an increase of 2.4 times year-on-year, becoming the main force of exports; private enterprises exported 280 million yuan, an increase of 39.4% year-on-year; foreign-invested enterprises exported 26.24 million yuan.
In terms of export categories, bulk carriers remain the main variety, with an export value of 1.78 billion yuan in the first two months, an increase of 2.2 times year-on-year; the export of liquid cargo ships showed explosive growth, with the export value soaring from 8.4 million yuan in the same period last year to 1.3 billion yuan, a year-on-year surge of 153.8 times.
In terms of export markets, the ship export market pattern of Fujian Province is becoming increasingly diversified. The EU is the main export market, with exports to it reaching 1.08 billion yuan from January to February, an increase of 3.6 times year-on-year. Meanwhile, emerging markets such as Latin America and Africa performed brilliantly, with exports of 870 million yuan and 750 million yuan respectively, increasing by 38.1% and 9.5 times year-on-year, becoming new growth points.
