On March 17, 2024, the world's largest 24000TEU-class LNG dual-fuel power container ship "Dafei Paris Grand Palace" built by Hudong Zhonghua Shipbuilding Group for France's Dafei Group was officially named and delivered, seven and a half months ahead of schedule. This is the 20th large container ship built by Hudong Zhonghua for Dafei Group, reflecting the in-depth cooperation between China and France in the fields of green shipping and high-end manufacturing. The ship has a total length of 399 meters and a width of 61.3 meters. It can carry nearly 24000 standard containers, which is equivalent to the capacity of 480 trains in China and Europe. The maximum number of stacking layers is 24. It carries 18000 cubic meters of MARK III LNG fuel tank and has a clean power endurance of nearly 20000 nautical miles. Compared with traditional fuel tankers, it reduces carbon dioxide emissions by about 20%, nitrogen oxides by 85%, particulate matter and sulfur oxide emissions by 99%, fully meeting the world's strictest environmental protection standards. Dafei Group said that the series of ships is crucial to its energy transition and the global shipping decarbonization process. Named after the cultural landmark of Paris, the ship will be put into operation on the Mediterranean route, aiming to inject new momentum into the smooth flow of global trade and the sustainable development of shipping.
