On the evening of April 8, the first five-star cruise ship of the Wanzhou Three Gorges Cruise Revival, "Chonglun·Yangtze Cloud Sail," slowly set sail from Chongqing Port for its trial voyage. The cruise ship is scheduled to officially begin operations on April 18 this year, operating the golden route of the Yangtze River Three Gorges from Chongqing to Yichang.
It is understood that the "Chonglun·Yangtze Cloud Sail" cruise ship was built with an investment of 200 million yuan and is the first five-star cruise ship of the Wanzhou Three Gorges Cruise Revival. The ship was designed and built by Chongqing Zhongjiang Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., with a length of 149.98 meters, a width of 23.38 meters, and a total height of 7 decks, accommodating up to 650 passengers. The ship's core design philosophy focuses on "safety, eco-friendliness, comfort, and intelligence," equipped with an advanced power system. The entire ship uses low-carbon and environmentally friendly materials, deeply integrates intelligent guest room and ship management systems, and has been classified by the China Classification Society (CCS) with the "Green Ship-2" additional notation, fully reflecting the development direction of green shipping.
The cruise ship is the first to feature a full-ship landscape lighting design, with large-scale three-dimensional open spaces blending modern minimalist styles with elements of traditional Chinese culture, creating a unique cultural IP characterized by "Yangtze River Three Gorges culture" and "Chongqing regional characteristics." The entire ship is adorned with art paintings by renowned artist Mr. Chen Kezhi, themed around gorges, landscapes, and clouds, positioning it as a "mobile art gallery on the Yangtze River" with residential, sightseeing, and collectible value. The ship offers seven types of rooms, including presidential suites, luxury suites, family rooms, and executive rooms, along with facilities such as a main restaurant, VIP restaurant, multifunctional hall, sun bar, cinema, gym, children's playground, and chess room. It also introduces unique services such as wellness and photography tours.
"'Chonglun·Yangtze Cloud Sail' is equipped with nearly 200 skilled crew members and can meet diverse needs such as group tours, senior health tourism, family trips, business conferences, government and business receptions, and inbound overseas tourists. Once the cruise ship officially operates, it will help Wanzhou District take an important step in integrating into the Yangtze River Three Gorges tourism golden belt and upgrading waterway passenger transport," said Chen Wuguang, Party Secretary and General Manager of Chongqing Jiaoyun Cruise Co., Ltd.
According to the operational plan, the ship will officially run on the Chongqing to Yichang route starting April 18, departing from Chongqing Port every Saturday and from Yichang Port every Tuesday, operating year-round. The route passes through famous attractions such as Fengdu Ghost City, Baidi City in Fengjie, Wushan Small Three Gorges, the Three Gorges Dam, and the Three Gorges Ship Lift, offering a panoramic view of the majestic scenery of Qutang Gorge, Wu Gorge, and Xiling Gorge.
"'Chonglun·Yangtze Cloud Sail' is the first five-star luxury cruise ship newly built by Chongqing Jiaoyun Cruise Co., Ltd., a shipping enterprise in Wanzhou District. The transportation and port navigation departments of Wanzhou District will continue to strengthen safety supervision of Jiaoyun Cruise Company, enhance service support, ensure the safe and stable operation of the ship, and fully support Jiaoyun Cruise Company in building two more similar Three Gorges cruise ships. This will expand the scale of Three Gorges cruise ships in the jurisdiction, promote the high-quality development of the Yangtze River tourism industry towards green, intelligent, and high-quality directions, and help Wanzhou accelerate its development into an important water tourism distribution center in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River," said Cheng Bo, Deputy Director of the Wanzhou District Port and Maritime Affairs Center.
