Pooling Resources to Ride the Waves and Sail Far: Port-Industry Collaboration Ushers in a New Chapter — The 2026 Pan-Coastal Shipping Ecosystem High-Quality Development Forum Was Successfully Held in Cangzhou
Spring tides surge in Bohai Bay, and ancient canal cities gather talents. On April 8, the 2026 Pan-Coastal Shipping Ecosystem High-Quality Development Exchange Conference, jointly hosted by the Cangzhou Municipal People's Government and the Bulk Cargo Transport Professional Committee of the China Shipowners' Association, and organized by the Cangzhou Marine and Port Management Bureau and COSCO Shipping Bulk Transport Co., Ltd., was grandly held in Cangzhou. With the theme "United Across the Seas, Sailing Far," the conference aimed to discuss plans for high-quality development of pan-coastal shipping and to outline a blueprint for the integrated development of ports, industries, and cities.
Fifteen experts and scholars from fields such as economics, port and shipping, maritime affairs, coal, and shipping technology, as well as key enterprises, took turns on stage to share cutting-edge insights, interpret development trends, and propose practical solutions on hot topics such as land-sea connectivity for bulk commodities, smart and green port construction, the global dry bulk shipping landscape, digital transformation in shipping, and standardization and electrification of inland vessels. Sun Yanyun, Deputy Secretary-General of the China Shipowners' Association, proposed an initiative calling on the industry to build consensus and work collaboratively to promote the green, intelligent, and efficient development of the shipping industry.
It is understood that this grand event brought together approximately 360 guests, including representatives from the Ministry of Transport, the Hebei Provincial Department of Transport, the Hebei Maritime Safety Administration, national shipowner enterprises, research institutions, and industry associations. It was a high-profile, large-scale, and influential industry event in Cangzhou's port and shipping sector, providing a high-end platform for government-enterprise-research communication, connection, and win-win cooperation. The event facilitated the implementation of several strategic collaborations, laying a solid foundation for the high-quality development of the pan-coastal shipping ecosystem and the implementation of Cangzhou's strategy to strengthen itself through maritime development.
After the conference, the attending guests visited Huanghua Port to experience firsthand the achievements in port planning and construction, operational management, and green smart transformation.
