Ningbo coastal energy materials have accumulated more than 1.36 million tons

Typhoon "White Dolphin" is approaching step by step. Ningbo's coastal areas have activated Level III typhoon emergency response starting at 8:00 PM on August 5, entering a critical window for energy material unloading.

On the morning of August 6, at Asia's largest 450,000-ton crude oil unloading terminal—Ningbo Shihua Crude Oil Terminal, the ultra-large oil tanker "Maran Zeus" is working at full capacity, planning to unload approximately 293,900 tons of crude oil before heading to safe waters outside the port to avoid the storm.

Meanwhile, at the Zhejiang Guohua Ninghai Power Plant terminal, the supply of coal for electricity is equally a race against time. The vessel "Shenhua 505," loaded with coal, is speeding up its unloading process, planning to deliver all 44,257 tons of coal into the power plant's storage to ensure sufficient "food supply" for the plant during the typhoon's passage.

To seize the operational window before the typhoon's impact, maritime authorities intervened early, proactively coordinating with terminals to assess ship schedules and formulate a "one ship, one policy" guarantee plan for key energy vessels, optimizing operations such as piloting and berthing. At the terminal, law enforcement personnel boarded vessels to provide safety reminders, urging ship operators to implement typhoon prevention measures. Utilizing tools such as drone patrols and disaster weather risk prevention scenarios, they strengthened dynamic monitoring and risk warnings at the worksite, ensuring safe and efficient crude oil unloading. "By applying the 'disaster weather risk prevention' scenario, we closely monitor the dynamics of incoming energy vessels, accurately assess wave, tide, and channel navigation conditions, and open a 'green channel' for energy material transportation, achieving 'zero supply interruption, zero delay,'" explained Huang Linlin, Deputy Director of the Ningbo Maritime Bureau's Vessel Traffic Management Center, to reporters.

Since Ningbo's coastal areas entered Level IV typhoon emergency response, the Ningbo maritime authorities have seized the window period and initiated energy material unloading operations. According to statistics, as of 8:00 PM on August 5, a total of 285,000 tons of crude oil, 531,000 tons of coal for electricity, and 356,000 tons of iron ore have been unloaded, providing solid energy support for regional economic development and livelihood needs.
