The first liquid bag container block train in Central Asia (Wuhan) has departed.
People's Daily Online, Beijing, March 19 (Reporter Wang Lianxiang) According to the China Railway Group's official website, on March 11, a special train loaded with high-quality edible sunflower seed oil from Central Asia entered the Xianglushan Station of China Railway Wuhan Group Co., Ltd., marking the first time the Central Asia train (Wuhan) has used the liquid bag container transportation mode to achieve direct import of edible oil to the central hinterland of China. This is not only an innovative breakthrough in transportation mode but also signifies that the return train from "Central Asia to Xianglushan" has officially entered the stage of regular operation.
The special train uses liquid bag container transportation technology, directly filling edible oil into disposable environmentally friendly liquid bags, achieving "door-to-door" transportation through standard containers. Compared with traditional canned or barreled transportation, the liquid bag technology places a flexible storage tank inside a standard container, with a single container capable of carrying 26 tons of liquid cargo, combining safety and economy, effectively solving the problems of high transportation loss and cost for liquid goods such as edible oil. For Hubei and the central region, the arrival of this train is not only a delivery of goods but also an exploration of upgrading the supply chain model. It also means that high-quality agricultural products from Central Asia can enter the Chinese market more efficiently and at a lower cost, further enriching people's dining tables.
Since the beginning of the year, Xianglushan Station has been operating China-Europe and Central Asia trains with high quality, continuously improving the density, variety of goods, and service levels of the trains, injecting strong momentum into the high-quality joint construction of the "Belt and Road".
According to the introduction, the liquid bag transportation mode will be promoted and applied in subsequent trains, covering multiple categories such as vegetable oil, food-grade liquids, and chemical intermediates. In the future, the railway department will continue to explore the "public train + enterprise customization" dual-drive mode to better help enterprises reduce costs and increase efficiency.
