Bohai Bay Guangli Port Area launched a volunteer service activity titled "Caring for Fishermen's Children."
To deeply cultivate social responsibility in the locality, enhance the foundation of marine port science education, genuinely care for the growth of the children of fishermen in Guangli Port, and establish a practical platform for port-local integration in education, recently, Bohai Bay Port's Guangli Port Area organized a themed volunteer service activity called "Caring for the Children of Fishermen." Teachers and students from Guangli Port Long-lasting Kindergarten, children of community fishermen, and some children of port employees gathered in the port area to immerse themselves in the charm of a modern port.
Under the warm autumn sunshine, participants gathered in front of Guangli Port's office building to commence a unique port study and practice tour. On the frontlines of the wharf, guided by engaging explanations, children closely observed port production operations, where giant vessels and loading and unloading equipment came into view, and the thriving development of this blue port gradually unfolded before their eyes.

From the dock operation site to the firefighting monitoring center, and then to the Model Worker Innovation Studio, the guides, based on their actual roles, used engaging and accessible explanations to share stories about port safety production, smart monitoring, and technological innovation with the children. They transformed the port's "hardcore" equipment and technologies into a marine science classroom that young learners could see and understand.
In the "Understanding Port Equipment" special science class, professional technicians became science instructors, breaking down knowledge about port machinery and planting the seeds of marine port science. The safety education segment focused on practical emergency skills, with on-site demonstrations of the Heimlich maneuver, bringing life-saving education closer to children and instilling the concept of self-rescue and mutual aid in their minds.
Beyond knowledge-based learning, the football field turned into a happy playground. Fun activities like ring tossing and jump rope competitions took turns in the spotlight, with laughter and cheer echoing throughout the port area. Children ran, played, cooperated, and competed, releasing their natural instincts and improving social interaction through entertaining sports, filling the port courtyard with youthful energy and vitality.

This activity ventured beyond the traditional model of simple visits and assistance, leveraging the unique scene resources of the port and transforming corporate production sites into off-campus practical classrooms. It achieved multiple effects of science education, safety awareness education, and heartfelt care. This initiative is both a vivid example of Shandong Port fulfilling its social responsibilities as a state-owned enterprise and deepening port-local cooperation, as well as a powerful practice of using Party-led efforts to guide youth volunteers in serving local communities.
In the next step, Guangli Port Area of Bohai Bay Port will continue to leverage the resource advantages of the port area, empower youth volunteer service, and regularly create grounded and warm-hearted port-local integrated public welfare projects. They aim to conscientiously safeguard the healthy growth of local children, use the port's sense of responsibility to enhance local community construction, and ensure that the warmth of the harbor continues to invigorate young coastal souls.
