On August 15-16, the 'Haigang Zhiyuan' bunkering ship at Shanghai Port achieved a world record by fueling the methanol dual-fuel container ship 'CMA CGM Osymium' with 8,016 tons of domestic green methanol. This milestone highlights Shanghai Port's leading role in promoting sustainable maritime fuel solutions, with a cumulative 36,000 tons of green methanol refueled to date—ranking it first among major global ports. The achievement underscores the continuous enhancement of Shanghai's comprehensive shipping service capabilities.
From August 15 to 16, at the Luhuashan Anchorage of Shanghai Port, the methanol bunkering vessel "Haigang Zhiyuan" supplied 8,016 tons of domestically produced green methanol in a single operation to the large methanol dual-fuel container ship "CMA CGM Osiris," setting a new global record for the highest single bunkering volume of green methanol.
As of now, Shanghai Port has cumulatively completed 36,000 tons of green methanol fuel bunkering, ranking first among major global ports in terms of bunkering volume, with the comprehensive service capacity of the Shanghai International Shipping Center continuing to improve.
